Charlene Edwards

Founder, Oakland Rhythmics and Xcel Team Director

Former USA National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team Member and International competitor in both Individual and Group disciplines. USAG Professional Member and National Coach Certification. Professional dancer with the Ballet De Monterrey in Mexico. Skilled in coaching competitive gymnasts from the beginner level to Elite and awarded Master of Sport in 2014.

Megan Murrell 

Level 2 Head Coach and Recreation Program Coach

5-time Junior Olympic national champion. 4-time Junior Olympic individual and group regional team member. USAG Professional Member. Cross-trained competitive dance for over 17 years and artistic gymnastics for 4 years. Skilled at coaching recreational and competitive gymnastics at Oakland Rhythmics for over 20 years. Developed preschool and  afterschool programs. Graduate of WSU and professional educator.  

 


Reese Renton 

Level 3 Lead Coach, Recreation Program Coach and Ballet Instructor

Oakland Rhythmic Gymnastics' competitive athlete for 11 years. Four-time Michigan State Level 9 Champion and 2022 and 2023 USAG National Championship qualifier and competitor. Four-time Junior Olympic group and individual medalist. Bloomfield Hills High School Rhythmic Gymnastics Varsity Team captain 2021-2022. Current Oakland University BFA candidate with extensive training in Russian classical ballet, lyrical, contemporary, jazz and modern dance performance styles and solo and group choreography. Extensive musical theater experience and four-time MIFA superior acting award winner. Oakland University School of Music, Theater and Dance scholarship recipient and USAG Professional member.

 
 

Maria Hogle 

Level 5 Assistant Coach, Xcel Team Assistant Coach and Recreation Program Coach

Certified USAG RG Level 3-5 and Beginner Group judge. USAG Professional Member. 2023 Level 9 national champion. Multi National Championship and Elite Qualifier participant. Internationally trained. 15+ years of experience in rhythmic gymnastics and competitive dance including tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theatre. 7 years Majestic Dance Ensemble company member in the production of The Nutcracker.

 
 

Olga Weibelhaus 

Level 4 and 5 Head Coach and Lead Ballet Instructor

Former Russian competitive rhythmic gymnast. Trained in Russian classical ballet and additionally skilled in ballroom dancing and acting. 10+ years experience coaching rhythmic gymnastics and ballet in the US, Russia and Belarus. PBT (progressing ballet technique) certified instructor since 2020. Extensive experience teaching flexibility and stretching, ballet fundamentals and PBT, tumbling and conditioning for dancers, gymnasts and figure skaters of all ages. Currently teaching at Valentina's School of Ballet, since 2015, with VSB teacher training program certification. Professional educator and USAG Professional member.

 
 
 
 

 

Selma Mawazini 

Level 3 Lead Coach, Recreation Program Coach and Media Specalist 

Competitive rhythmic gymnast for 12 years, 10 years with Oakland Rhythmics. Experience in group and individual training. Competed regionally and nationally. Oakland Rhythmic Gymnastics team captain 2021-2024. Lead the first Birmingham Recreational summer camp program for ORG, 2025. Current media specalist working closely with team social media, website and recreation program marketing. Pre-medical student at Wayne State University pursuing Sports Medicine.  
 
 
 
 

 

Caitlin Stephenson 

Level 2 Assistant Coach and Recreation Program Assistant Coach

Strong foundation in both rhythmic gymnastics and dance with over a decade of performance and competitive experience.10-year member of Chicago-based Rhythmic Gems. Multiple first-place Illinois State Championship awards and midwest Regional Championship medalist. Junior Olympic Group gold medalist. Trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, swing, tango and tap.
